Arsenal already won a trophy in the first days of the season. The Gunners faced Liverpool for the Community Shield and they won against the champion via penalties. It was a second trophy for the young manager Mikel Arteta since he was appointed at the position.
Arsenal chose to avoid doing big moves on the transfer market - at least for now. The only exception is the Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes who was bought for 26 million euro from French side Lille. At the same time Willian and Cedric Soares were signed with free transfers.
